The team at Project MAMA have grown concerned with the increasing visibility of trans exclusion. We would like it to be known that Project MAMA support and celebrate trans existence, whether that be trans women, trans men or gender fluid and non-binary people.
We recognise that not all people with a uterus are women. Gender non-conforming and trans masculine people also go through pregnancy and child birth. Alongside the multiple barriers experienced by our clients in accessing maternity care, additional difficulties will face those who are trans.
We warmly welcome trans masculine and gender non-conforming people who are expecting children to use our services, whether that be attending 3Bs, or in receiving support from our Doulas. We seek to make our organisation as trans inclusive as possible, and welcome feedback on where we can improve on this.
In love and solidarity,
The Project MAMA Team
