Volunteer as a Mother Companion with Project MAMA
We are also growing and are recruiting more volunteer Mother Companions!
To become part of our growing team, we ask that you:
- Have completed a comprehensive doula training program, be a midwife or have other comparable birth room experience;
- Have attended a minimum of 3 births;
- Be willing to undertake an enhanced DBS check;
- Have a non-judgemental and holistic approach to providing support to women from diverse backgrounds;
- Be committed to supporting a minimum of two births with Project MAMA over a 1 year period;
- Have a commitment to social justice and encourage resilience in others.

Volunteer at Three B’s, our weekly drop-in hub.
Three B’s is a drop-in hub which offers solidarity, support and community for refugee & migrant women throughout pregnancy and early parenting. It provides a safe and supportive space for mamas and their children and is open to women from diverse migrant backgrounds. We offer yoga sessions, parenting & pregnancy support, a home-cooked meal chosen and cooked by those who attend amongst other weekly activities.
We are looking for regular volunteers at our drop-in hub which runs every Friday from 12-3pm in St. Pauls, Bristol.
We are looking for a Support Assistant
This role is for compassionate individual who is keen to contribute to the general running of the group and to ensure the comfort of attending mamas and their children. We require someone who has good organisational skills, experience supporting vulnerable women and working with young children and babies and a knowledge and understanding of birth and early parenting.

We are looking for a Volunteer Fundraiser
As we expand, we are seeking a dedicated individual with a commitment to gender equality and migrant rights to join our expanding team. We are looking for someone who shares the ethos of Project MAMA and is keen to support our work as we continue to grow.
The ideal candidate additionally have knowledge and understanding in migration and/or asylum issues and/or knowledge of the migrant experience and migrant organisations local to Bristol and further afield.
We are looking for someone with strong understanding of writing successful funding proposals and reporting financial information to decision-making boards.
